Carol Lee
Carol is a life science consultant having
worked with some of the leading companies and investors in the life
science sector.
Carol was a founder in 2006 of 4D Biomedical Ltd, an
advisory business set up to help companies and investors, with a
management team
that worked together over the last fifteen years establishing some of
the UK’s most successful bio-ventures.
Carol previously led the Transaction Support
practice at Cambridge Consultants where she worked for a range of
investors and companies. In this role, Carol managed the preparation of
several Expert Reports for companies seeking listing on the LSE or AIM.
In addition, Carol was responsible for consulting activities in
Therapeutics working with a range of biotech and pharmaceutical clients.
Carol joined Cambridge Consultants in 2000 from Merlin
Biosciences, the specialist biotechnology venture capital group. At
Merlin, Carol was Investment Executive with
responsibilities including investment appraisal and business planning.
She was closely involved with a number of early
stage portfolio companies such as Ark, ReNeuron, Vectura and Arakis,
working with the founding scientists to
develop business plans for first and second round financing.
Prior to joining Merlin, Carol was Group Leader of
Microbial Technology at Chiroscience plc, a company
applying chiral approaches to pharmaceutical development.
Carol has a first class honours degree in Biochemistry
from Brunel University and an MBA from the Judge Business School at
Cambridge University.

Charles Lee
Charles is an experienced consultant with a background
as an engineer, and has worked for clients
in a wide range of industries. His work typically involves supporting
decisions related to investments in
technology oriented businesses, particularly in the materials, energy
and engineering sectors.
Previously he worked as a Senior Consultant in the
Innovation and Technology Management practice of
Sagentia Ltd (formerly called Scientific Generics Ltd), where his work
involved technology strategy, business development and support for
financial transactions in technology oriented businesses.
Prior to this he was a Manager in Arthur D. Little’s
Technology Practice, based in Cambridge, UK,
where he was involved in numerous investment decisions, typically
providing technology, commercial and market due diligence on
investments in technology-oriented businesses.
He joined Cambridge Consultants Ltd in 1987, where he
worked in variety of technology development project support
roles.
Charles took a thin sandwich degree in
Mechanical/Production Engineering at Brunel University, graduating in
1982. He was sponsored throughout the course by Petter Ltd,
manufacturers of
small industrial diesels, where he worked on graduation. He
later joined Fairey Hydraulics Ltd, designers and manufacturers of
aerospace servo-control systems.
